Mom makes miracle halfcourt shot, wins kid free tuition
A Minnesota student was the top fundraiser in a school project helping raise money to feed the hungry. The prize was $4,000 towards her tuition, but she could claim the prize only after her mom made a miraculous half-court shot.
There have been some great basketball tandems over the years. Jabbar and Magic. Jordan and Pippen. LeBron and Wade.
But sometimes the unlikeliest of hoop heroes emerge.
Angela Ramey and her daughter, Grace, pulled off the unthinkable at Bethany Academy in Bloomington earlier this month.
Nine-year-old Grace won a school fundraiser by raising the most money for Kids Against Hunger which serves local food shelves.
The prize...a half a year tuition. Only one catch, she had to make a half court shot in the gym.
So together, Mom and daughter took turns missing the first two attempts badly. The third shot though involved something pretty special, and an even better celebration of disbelief.
